Costa Rica's volunteer placements provide a variety of social, health and educational placements. But preservation and wildlife volunteer placements in Costa Rica take over. We've a number of placements using the services of water turtles, monkeys as well as other animals in National Parks round the country.
You can view from searching the Costa Rican volunteer placements below that many associated with the personal and healthcare placements require conversational or intermediate Spanish. These minimum language needs exist because at these placements the employees and clients will not be able to speak English.
Not to ever be concerned. Should you not speak Spanish already you can expect extended language training at regional Costa Rican rates. For an absolute beginner we now have found that they could reach the desired level the the greater part of placements with four (4) weeks of research. This can include the first few days of language instruction during the volunteer orientation PLUS three (3) extra weeks of prolonged language education.
Unless you have the time or even the inclination to analyze Spanish throughout your system you'll either learn beforehand by yourself or you can pick placements that do not need conversational or intermediate Spanish.
